Editor's note: My records tell me that Clark's first winning drive was on Free Trouble trained by his father Ron and owned by Eddie Geary and Graeme Wright. The win was at Forbury Park October 11th 1980. Free Trouble paid $14.50 and backed up seven days later to win again at Forbury in a 3200 metre race. He paced the journey in 4.28.3 and beat handicap horses Mark Antony, Model Hardcraft and Really Sly. Your best season? Editor's note: 366 drives - 69 -39 - 39 $273,102. UDR .2798 Lento 64 - 15 - 10 - 5 $272,110 Editors note: Clark drove Prince Rashad in 51 of his 108 starts winning 11 races. Prince Rashad went through a purple patch of form in December 1995-January 1996 when he won 5 races in a row including a deadheat at New Brighton. The Austin Stack trained gelding won two Invercargill Cups in 1996 and 1997 driven on both ocassions by Clark Barron. Barron won 6 races driving Lento including the 1995 Canterbury Draught NZ Standardbred Stakes (Group One) in a 1.56.8 mile rate. Other group wins included the NZ Premier Mares Championship (Group Three) and the Meadow Fresh 2000 at Addington in 1995 beating Nippon Home, No Return and Bee Bee Cee. Best trotter driven? Editor's note: Holdonmyheart was imported from the States and he raced 14 times in New Zealand for 4 wins.
