Editors note: Robin's first winner was Rocking Berry. He drove the Colin Baynes trained gelding to win the Winton Three Year Old Stakes at Winton December 29th 1979. The classy Berry Hanover three year old beat Armbro Wings and Boy Bret. He was the second favourite and won by seven and a half lengths.

Robin drove ten winners that season.

His best season, to date ,was the 1989/90 season when he drove 31 winners.
