Qualification for finals:
The fields will be determined in the following order:
1) In order of the highest stake earnings based on the following criteria:
a) All earnings (including handicapping exempt earnings) for the 2011/2012 season up to and including 22nd April 2012 at Southern Harness Clubs (Invercargill, Gore, Northern Southland, Riverton, Wairio, Winton, Wyndham, Roxburgh and Central Otago meetings only for placings – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th only.
b) All Sales Series earnings are excluded.
c) All stake bonuses (example: Harness Plus , Incentive bonuses) are excluded.
2) All horses must start in at least 2 races run by Southern Harness Racing Clubs to be eligible for the final.
3) Final fields will be based on the highest stake earnings won at Southern Harness Racing Club meetings listed above in 1 (a).
4) Stakes for each final will be $40,000.
5) Finals for the 2011-2012 season to be run at Invercargill on Saturday 28th April 2012 will have a maximum field of 12 starters: 7 from the front line and five from the second line.
Fillies 2200 metre mobile and Colts and Geldings 2700 metre mobile.
6) Leading stake earner starting each race-day will wear sponsors colours in all races it starts in.
7) The top 12 nominations qualifiers in both series will not be eligible to start in other races on finals day.
