Bronze Hero lead from Lo And Behold, Felicity Robyn and Macarandum. Macarandum was out at the 600 metres and won from Felicity Robyn and Lo And Behold.

Macarandum is out of Know Gain, is a full sister to Tamway (5 wins) and Fella Again (4 wins). Second placegetter Felicity Robyn is a half sister to Robyn Joan (4 wins) while Lo And Behold is a half sister to Burlesque (6 wins) Mainstay (2 wins) and Rolls Canardly.

Julius Supreme lead all the way under the strong hands of Clark Barron and won easily from Hayden Supreme and Glowing Sky.
Has raw ability but still has to learn the racing game.

Woodburn Lady lead early from Felix Hanover and Hanover Patch. Felix Hanover came along the rails in the home straight to win by half a length from Jolly Good Union which ran on well as did Greta Garbo which finished third.

Beeslack lead for most of the way but Makarewa Sun easily won the heat by nine and a half lengths.
