Trial notes:

The Odd One trailed 3rd or 4th early, waiting until the last 300 metres before bursting onto the scene four wide at the top of the straight. He then sprinted away to win by six and a half lengths. Looks like a handy horse. Last Port Of Call was handy all the way and battled well as did Flying Bonnie.

Mobile Pace 2200 metres (up to 1 win)

This heat was won well by Toulouse Lautrec. The time was slower than most of the mobile qualifiers earlier in the day. The eye catching run was from Doves Patch finishing second. She should improve on her Gore run.

Mobile Pace 2200 metres (up to 1 win)

Twin Rivers took out this heat. He was last for most of the trip, still five lengths in arrears at the 600 before trainer Clark Barron drove him down the outside to win by a head. He ran his last 800 metres in 57.0. When he qualified as a two year old last season, Twin Rivers ran his 1609 metres in 2-00.2. He's a half brother to Holmespero (1 win) and Soky's Agent (4 wins). Plunder Bay ran home well for second as did Soldier On for third.

Pace 2700 metres (2 or more wins)

Jimbob Jac lead for most of the trip from Fullavino, Tact Lizzie and Natal Franco. Tact Lizzie move up in the last 400 metres and won by a neck from Jimbob Jac with Natal Franco a further three and a quarter lengths back. Tact Lizzie recorded  57.1 for her last 800 metres.

Pace 2200 metres (non winners)

Stirling Point impressed when he lead all the way to beat Jan Ulrich by three lengths. He was only slapped with the reins at the finish. Owned by Ben and Karen Calder, Stirling Point looks like a first up maiden winner. Jan Ulrich was impressive at trials last season but failed to deliver in his two raceday appearances. He ran his last 800 metres in 57.1. He has a new owner and will hopefully have a change in luck.
