Wednesday 11th January - Central Southland Raceway in Winton

Hamish Hunter produced three two year olds fillies to qualify at Winton. Just Gorgeous (Washington VC - I'm Gorgeous) easily beat stablemates Beaudiene Beyonce (Art Major-Beaudiene Ladylike) and Kerry Abbey (Elsu-Fantastic Abbey).

Just Gorgeous ran the 1609 metres in 2-01.5 and won by two lengths. She is out of the three win Peace Of Art mare I'm Gorgeous. She is a grand daugther of Big Softie which Hunter trained.

The Gordon and Colin Lee trained Benjamin Banneker (Washington VC - Lavish) won the 2400 metre mobile qualifying heat by two lengths from Oreti Dream (Courage Under Fire - Rose's Dream). Benjamin Banneker lead all the way while Oreti Dream stormed home from three back on the running line. Oreti Dream looks a horse with potential.

Hamish Hunter trained the two runners in the two year colts and gelding mobile heat. In The Kitty is owned by the same partnership as Franco Ledger The What Ever Syndicate and Hunter. He's out of the In The Pocket mare Classic Nymph a daughter of Classical which won five races including the Group One NZ Sires Stakes for two year old fillies. In The Kitty was a $30,000 yearling purchase. Domino Denario was second and also qualified.

The well bred Moon Countess easily beat Reach For The Sun in the trotters qualifying heat. She is out of the six win Armbro Invasion mare Moon Princess.

The Elsu gelding El Cabrera easily won the 2400 metre qualifying stand event by five lengths from Robert Score which also qualified.

Other horse to impress in the non-qualifying heats were Ardlussa Eliza which looks better suited to the bigger tracks, All Our Zuri which stormed home to run third in his heat and the Kirk Larsen pair of Hardie Bromac and Cuddlecam both winners.
