Waltzing Holme was smartly away and lead all the way to win by two and a half lengths. The Pioneer, which improved from fifth at the 600 metres, ran second.

Yaldy Boy is out of Armbro Adios a daughter to Miradios which won six races mainly in Southland. Miradios's best foal is Watch Me Trot the winner of 14 races.

Yaldy Boy lead all the way and just ran under the required time.

Em Ef Cee trailed early before taking off at the 500 metres to win by 16 lengths.

Winner of this heat, Coughin was last early before getting into the one one. She was taken to the lead with a lap to run and won by two lengths from Our Boomerang and Jaccka Twain which ran on without too much room.

Holmezy got to the lead at the 1600 metre mark from Hi Gun and held on to win by 3 lengths.

Smart qualifier from last season, Laughing Lilly lead from start to finish to win by an impressive 7 lengths running her last half in 58.9 on a dead track.
Pace (3 to 4 wins) 2400 metres
Shamrocks came from the back of the three horse field to get up by a nose from Onedin Crusader. She ran her last 800 metres in 58.5.
Trot (non winners) 2400 metres
Mybrotherwasastar lead from the start in a two horse heat to win by 15 lengths.
