What was your first winner?
Tapora Jack. It was awesome. I had been going to the races since I was about five and it was an amazing feeling.

Editor's note: The Gaines Minbar gelding part owned by Knight, won at the Ruakaka Raceway in Northland in January 1987. He was driven by Geoff Small. He won another three races for Knight and seven races in all.

76 (End of the 2010-2011 season).

Invercargill Winter Cup with Trojan.

How did you choose your racing colours?
They're Otago colours with a chess knight.

Which race would you most like to win in Southland?
Southland Oaks because it's usually won by a top class filly and I'd love one of them.

Which New Zealand race would you like to win?
New Zealand Cup because it's the Everest of the trotting game and a super achievement.

Which horse currently in your stable gets you up in the morning?
They all do.

Which New Zealand trainer do you most admire?
Roy Purdon. His record speaks for itself and he's a thoroughly nice man.

What do you consider to be the biggest challenge facing Harness Racing in Southland?
Funding and stakes. If we don't keep the stakes up we will loose owners.
