Which race would you most like to win in Southland?
The Invercargill Cup as it is the "biggest" race in Southland although the Southland Oaks and Kindergarten Stakes rank pretty close behind. Winning the Supremacy and Caduceus Club 2 year old Fillies Classic in 2006 was very special.
Which New Zealand race would you be most thrilled to win?
The New Zealand Cup as it is the pinnacle.
Which New Zealand trainer do you admire?
Mark Purdon for consistently producing top horses and for his quiet and kind way with horses.
What do you consider to be the biggest challenge facing harness racing in Southland?
Regaining a public following and linked to that catering for our top horses.
It would be great to see our locally owned/trained horses being able to race in Southland on a regular basis.
Imagine It's Ella, Classic Cullen, Roman Gladiator and Powerball lining up together in Southland.
That would be really entertaining for the public which is what racing needs to be. We also need to improve the quality of facilities.
